How repair requests work in New Brunswick
Your landlord has to keep the unit in a good state of repair and fit to live in. The best first step is a clear written request that lists each problem and gives a reasonable time to fix it. Writing it down matters: it lets the landlord enter to do the repair, and it is the record you need if the issue is not handled.
For an emergency such as no heat, no water, or a major leak, ask for it to be fixed right away. If your landlord does not respond, contact the Tenant and Landlord Relations Office at 1-888-762-8600. Send your request by a method you can prove, and keep a copy with any photos.
